I am so happy to get to paint with oils again- thanks to the "No solvent necessary" miscible oils. It's amazing how fast they came "back" after a 30+ year separation due to my asthma/allergies. It's doubly nice to share a set up with my oil painter husband when we're on the road! While Pastels are my favorite, I can take a 5 tubes of oils and mix any color I need. The water miscible oils only needs water to clean up and I can use some walnut oil to thin- safer for the environment (and me). It makes for a more portable "kit" to bring on my travels.
My husband Bob and I painted side by side at this overlook on a PAWA outing. We tried to stay out of the way- but we were an attraction all by ourselves! Oil on Canvas. PS We later did a show at Morso Gallery called "Side by Side"- kind of a "he said/she said" art conversation!

I was painting in a Rural Garden on the Garden Tour- She had a lovely cottage garden. It was rainy and blustery, so a plant vendor lent us a tent to paint under.
On out trip to France, we rented a house in Cotignac, Provence for a week. Sunny yellow walls with blue shutters, a tile roof and terraced garden. We took a "day off" just to paint and drink it all in. Oil on canvas panel

Oil "portrait"of small Turtle Island off Salt Creek Campground near Pt Angeles. It was included in the PAWA "Nature's Gift of Water" Book. I also did a pastel of the island from the far side- that view shows the Turtle shape of the island better.

At the Gig Harbor Garden tour- a great little space carved out of the front garden for enjoying a cuppa tea.
I was doing a lot of oil painting as a result of trip to France (taking only oils). This was back home and I was trying for a Monet-esque angle on this concrete bridge.
