Reflecting on Beauty

My daughter Kristina posed in summer kimono for a figure drawing event. Most of this piece was completed as part of a demo during the Summer Arts Festival. It's amazing it worked out so well given all the interruptions!(I do love to talk to people about Pastels and my work)

NW Memories

NW Memories

A Pastel of a still life that I composed with some of my own ceramic pieces and coiled baskets. This won a nice award at the Western Washington Fair.

Queen Madrona

Queen Madrona

Pastel of one of my favorite trees, up on Lopez Island. It won an award and sold!

Cromwell Farm

Cromwell Farm

A pastel piece celebrating a beautiful 53 acre trust farm in Cromwell that I'd drive past daily when we lived on Hales Passage.

Redheads

Redheads

My daughter and her daughter- I'd made the grand baby a crochet hat with braids- but she ripped it off as fast before I could get a photo. Ah, but savvy Mom whisked her up- and I finally got a photo- but you can see that little hand ready to remove it once again. oil on canvas board.

Lill Shop o' Horrors

Lill Shop o' Horrors

The students from Hilltop Glass Class had an exhibit in Seymour Conservatory in Tacoma. I came in to get out of the rain- and painted inside- with permission. We had a lot of fun sharing information about our chosen media!

Fall Regatta

Fall Regatta

I took the photo from the ferry heading for Pt Towsend. The pastel was done in studio on textured board. Mt.Baker sure looks bare in the Fall- yet it will get the largest snowfall in the Cascades.

Kaukiki Farm Pond

Kaukiki Farm Pond

I got a pretour of the Key Peninsula Farm Tour- my first chance to see Kaukiki Farm. What a lovely spot- I especially loved the pond. This was used on a poster for the event, and the original was purchased by the owners.

Daffodil Weather

Daffodil Weather

I took a photo for reference just before a storm hit. When I finally did this pastel from the photo, it brought to mind the big thunderheads I had seen in Santa Fe. This helped me give just the right intensity to the clouds over Mt Vernon- SOLD!
